Jharkhand High Court today rejected the bail plea of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, who is serving a five-year sentence at the Birsa Munda Central Jail here after being convicted in a fodder scam case.
Justice R R Prasad passed the order stating after hearing the petition it was not inclined to give bail and thereby rejected it.
The court had yesterday concluded the hearing and reserved the order for today.
The bail petition of former MP Jagdish Sharma was adjourned till November 22.
Lalu, another former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra and 43 others were on September 30 convicted by the special CBI court Judge Pravas Kumar Singh in the fodder scam case involving fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 37.7 crore from Chaibasa Treasury during the Lalu-led RJD regime.
Ailing Mishra secured provisional bail from the high court till January 8.
The CBI court had pronounced varying prison terms to the convicted persons on October 3.
