The Madhya Pradesh Government has initiated steps for increasing food grain storage capacity in the State by constructing 27 godowns in six districts of Bundelkhand region.
These godowns, having the storage facility of 77,600 tonnes, will be constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 97 crore, official sources said on Friday.
Under the plan, seven godowns of 21,600 tonne capacity will be built in Sagar district, three of 9,400 tonne in Damoh, three of 9,200 MT in Panna, four of 11,200 MT in Tikamgarh, six 18,200 MT in Chhatarpur district and four of 8,000 MT in Datia district, they said.
