French company Georges Monin SAS, known for flavoured syrups for use in foods and beverages, has announced plans to set up a unit in Telangana.
Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT & Industries, and Olivier Monin, President, Georges Monin SAS, signed the MoU in the presence of Industries Minister KT Rama Rao here on Tuesday.
With an investment up to ₹100 crore, Georges Monin SAS will set up production facilities in Telangana to manufacture gourmet flavours from a wide range of fruits, vegetables, flowers and nuts.
The unit is expected to generate more than 200 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the State. The Telangana government is encouraging food processing sector in the State with objectives of increasing farm incomes and reducing food wastage.
After the memorandum, the Minister said, “We will provide complete assistance to Georges Monin SAS in setting up of its unit in the State.”
The 106-year-old French company Georges Monin SAS is a global leader in gourmet flavour business. It manufactures syrups, sweeteners, fruit purees and other beverages.
The company manufactures a line of coffee and tea concentrates as well. With its headquarters in France, Georges Monin’s products are available in more than 140 countries.
