The Bengaluru South GST Commissionerate has recovered ₹16.47 crore from a lead acid battery manufacturer after the company was found to have evaded remitting GST to the exchequer. After verification of the records, it was found that the company had collected GST of ₹20.70 crore from customers but had failed to remit it to the government, a Commissionerate statement said.
