The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) will be the first institute in the country to offer a full-fledged B Tech programme in Artificial Intelligence from the next academic year. “We are the first institute in the country and likely the third globally after Carnegie Mellon University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to offer the course,” a statement from IIT-H said. It will have an intake of around 20 students who will be selected from JEE-Advanced rankings. It is already offering an M Tech programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. “The idea is to create a complete ecosystem for AI academics and research at the institute,” UB Desai, Director of IIT-H, said.
