The UAE-based Aries Group’s Indywood Consortium has initiated $10 billion investment in India and West Asia as part of Vision 2020 of the group, its Chairman and CEO Sohan Roy has said.
“We will increase our market share in marine, tourism and entertainment sectors by 2020. In entertainment, we will set up top notch multiplex screens, home cinemas, animation/films schools in both India and the Gulf countries. We will invest $10 billion in the next five years and it would generate one lakh jobs. The details of other ventures will be announced soon,” he said.
The group will produce international movies and arrange worldwide distribution.
The Indywood consortium is an umbrella network connecting 2,000 high net-worth individuals to realise the full potential of India’s multi-billion dollar film and entertainment sector.
Several leading industrialists from across the globe are members of the consortium, which was launched in Hyderabad recently.
