Healthcare aggregator MeraPatient is looking to raise ₹20 crore for expansion of its network. Set up by a Jaipur-based entrepreneur, MeraPatient aggregates curated chemist shops and diagnostic labs with the help of a GPS tracker in a smartphone app and allows users to order medicines online.

The app, which was launched as a pilot last August, has 10,000 users currently, while the company looks to raise ₹20 crore to expand its footprint in key cities. The company has initiated talks with venture capital players to raise the required funds.

The app users can search for chemist shops and diagnostic centres nearby and buy medicines or book appointments for the tests by uploading doctors’ prescription.

Founder Manish Mehta said that the company plans to expand its presence in ten more cities, including Delhi and Mumbai. “In the first phase the app will be launched in 10 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune and three more cities by 2019,” he said.

“At a time, when E-pharmacies are coming up in a big way in the country, livelihood of about 8.5 lakh offline pharmacies are at stake. MeraPatient app is empowering such pharmacists by helping them reach out to their own regular patients/customers more effectively and serve them at their doorstep,” said Mehta.

With the nation-wide network of certified chemists shops and diagnostic centres, the app empowers users to buy medicines and get tests done at diagnostic labs of their choice, he said.

The app also features a panic button to help users in trouble or in panic situation.
