It looks like the fascination for following Bollywood stars on Twitter never diminishes.

Of the 10 most-followed Indian Twitter accounts, nine are from the Indian film industry. The only other account is that of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi (@narendramodi). With 16.4 million followers, Modi is the third most-followed Indian account.

A blog post by Twitter India said that the number of followers of Modi has quadrupled from 4 million to 16 million since May 2014 when he assumed charge as Prime Minister. It said that he is the biggest gainer on the top 10 list in 2015.

Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) remains on the top with 18.1 million followers. The Khans of Bollywood Shahrukh (@iamsrk), Aamir (@aamir_khan) and Salman (@BeingSalmanKhan) occupy 2nd, 4th and 5th most-followed accounts with 16.5 million, 15.5 million and 15 million followers, respectively.

The Bollywood queens Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are the only two heroines on the top-10 list of most-followed Indian accounts. With 12.3 million followers Deepika (@deepikapadukone) gets sixth position. Priyanka (@priyankachopra) occupies 8th position with 11.8 million followers.

Music composer AR Rahaman (@arrahman) is the only other celebrity, apart from the actors, to get a slot in the top-10 list. With 9.5 million followers, he gets the 10th slot in the list.

Hrithik Roshan (@iHrithik) and Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) occupied the 7th and 9th positions with 11.9 million and 10.6 million followers, respectively.
