A total of 13,525 cases are pending in Central tribunal-cum-labour courts across the country. The highest number of pending labour cases is in Ahmedabad at 2,194, followed by Jabalpur at 1,914, according to the Labour Ministry. The Union Government has 22 such tribunals-cum-labour courts in the country, out of which only one post of presiding officer in Kolkata is lying vacant, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Kodikunnil Suresh, said in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. The process of filling up the vacancy in Kolkata is in the final stages, the Minister added.
