An eight-member team of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), headed by Sekhar Bonu, Director, South Asia Regional Cooperation visited Sri City on Saturday as a part of their initiatives to study the potential along the Chennai-Viskhapatnam industrial corridor.
Briefing them on Sri City, Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director Sri City said, ''Since inception, Sri City has been evoking great interest amongst the international business community, and today it has emerged as a highly recommended investment destination for several internationally reputed brands.''
The team went round the industrial park and witnessed the works in progress at Danieli, Pals Plush and Rockworth units.
Later, at a meeting chaired by P. Krishnaiah, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), the ADB team had an elaborate discussion on various issues related to the infrastructure development in the region.
The partnership between AP government and ADB is seen to give a big fillip to the economic growth of the State. With the Visakhapatnam-Chennai industrial corridor expected to pass through the backward areas of Chittoor-Nellore, the entire region is seen to gain form the rapid economic development.
During the past two days, the ADB officials have been touring Chittoor-Nellore districts to discuss with officials on how to develop industries in the region along the Visakhapatnam-Chennai corridor and prepare a feasibility report.
