The Kochi-based Modern Graphics has won eight awards at the eighth national awards for excellence in printing organised by the All-India Federation of Master Printers. It also won a special jury award as the Star printer of the Year in the small offset printer category. The awards were received by Modern Graphics’ managing director Devan from the poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar at a ceremony held at Pune recently. About 1850 entries from 160 printers competed for 104 awards. Modern was among the ten top awardees. It had in 1996 won the SAARC award at the South Asian printers’ competition.
