Connect Coimbatore, which has grown in size and stature is now a signature annual event in Coimbatore.
The 13th edition of this event slated for Feb 7 at the Le Meridien here is expected to give greater thrust on information and communication technology (ICT).
“The approach is two pronged. While the thrust would be on ICT, this annual event is also a promotional exercise initiated by the CII, Coimbatore zone, initially with a view to market this city as an ideal IT destination,” said the Chairman of Coimbatore Connect 2013 and Executive Director of Quadrasystem.net I P Ltd S. Prasanth.
The theme of the event this year is ‘Are you learning as fast as the world is changing?’
“And in keeping with the theme, we did the entire planning on social media and not on e-mail,” said Prasanth
Briefing media persons, Ashok Bakthavathsalam, Chairman, CII Coimbatore zone and Managing Director, KG Information Systems Pvt Ltd said every edition of this flagship event of CII, Coimbatore zone focused on relevant themes that enabled both technology consumers and providers to learn and gain from the thought leaders in the industry.
“One of the themes that emerged from the last edition of Connect was ‘whether we have moved with the change happening around us.’
“We have moved away from the SMAC (Social, Media, Analytics and Cloud) tag, by moving away from the cloud and looking to embrace the social platform,” Ashok said, adding ‘ICT needs thrust.’
S. Mahalingam, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Tata Consultancy Services will to deliver the key note address.
Technical session would include a session on mobile applications, Enterprise Resource Planningand Beyond, Growth strategies for Startups, Cyber Security and Game Changers.
