The 223nd French National Day (La Fete Nationale), which commemorates the storming of the Bastille Prison marking the beginning of French revolution, would be celebrated in the Union Territory, a former French colony on July 14.
Puducherry has a considerable number of French nationals and a majority of them belong to Puducherry region.
The Puducherry Government has recognised French as one of the official languages besides Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English.
The French National Day this year would be marked by the visit of French Ambassador to India, Mr Francois Richier, a press release said.
