The team from GKD Matriculation Higher Secondary School coemerged winner at the Coimbatore edition of RBI Quiz 2014.

They scored 65 points and kept their nearest rival – the team from Amrita Vidyalaya – way behind at 30 points.

The winning team in the quarter final round of the quiz in Coimbatore will move to the zonal final to be held at Chennai in November. This would be followed by the semi final and finals to be held at Mumbai, later this year.

The event, held for the first time in Coimbatore witnessed overwhelming response. About 300 students studying in class IX, X, XI and XII from various schools in this region participated in the event.

Besides Coimbatore, RBIQ was held at three other locations – Trichy, Madurai and Chennai in Tamil Nadu. This inter-school quiz competition has been proposed at 62 locations across the country.

Both audience and participating teams from various schools said the experience was thrilling and enjoyable.

Banking Ombudsman for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry U Chiranjeevi gave away the cash vouchers to the winning team.
