There is really no basis for the fears that the Seemandhra State will suffer hugely and turn into a Jharkhand or Chhattisgarh, given the entrepreneurial spirit of the people of the region, according to B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Chairman of Infotech Enterprises.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday after visiting the Infotech facility, he said there was no lack of resources or entrepreneurial spirit among the people and, therefore, dire predictions about the future of Seemandhra were not warranted, now that Telangana State had been formed. “Infrastructure will have to be built up and investment has to be attracted and the people of the region are hard-working and they will certainly develop the region,” he said.

He said his company was the first IT company to set up a unit here. In 2007, when Infotech started the operations here, there were only 15 employees and now the number has crossed 1,000.

The company set up its unit in the IT SEZ here. In the next two to three years, 2,000 more may be recruited.

“There is no room for despair and I am certain Seemandhra will make its mark in the IT sector in future,” he added.
