State Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty has inaugurated a new building in Infopark Kochi.

The 10-storeyed building of 2.75 lakh sq ft space is the fourth building of Leela Infopark on the campus. On completion, it is expected to generate over 2,000 job opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister pointed out that IT has a substantial role to plan for the industrial development of the State. The IT growth results in the educational and economical well being of the State and Kerala are a fertile land for IT, he added.

Leela Infoparks, set up by the Leela Group as a co-developer with Infoparks, had taken up 6.35 acres and had built three buildings (1.25 lakh sq ft, 3.3 lakh sq ft and 1.6 lakh sq ft built up spaces each). With the new building, Leela now has total of 8.7 lakh sq. ft. and houses about 50 IT companies in these spaces.

P.H. Kurien, Principal Secretary, IT, said the contributions of Leela Infopark to Kerala IT have always been remarkable since it joined hands with Kerala IT. Leela group is very keen on setting up most modern IT infrastructure facilities and it has shaped the overall ambience of IT Parks across the State.
