The AIADMK passed a resolution on Wednesday, telling the Centre that the proposed economic reforms and administrative changes should not adversely impact the poor and middle class people. It said that since 2004, a series of scams had led to an acute current account deficit. The new government has indicated that corrective measures could be a ‘bitter pill’. However, these measures should not further burden the common man, it said. Jayalalithaa and all other senior members and functionaries of the party participated in the meeting.
