All households in Bengal will have electricity by March 2017, Power & Non-Conventional Energy Sources Minister, Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay, said here today.
“Our Government is fully aware that power is key to development in all areas – industry, agriculture, education, etc. That explains why the state government has turned its focus on providing electric connections in all households,” he said at the Energy Conclave organised by the CII Eastern region.
As on today, 97% households in West Bengal have electricity, he said, as per a release issued by the CII.
