Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said his government is ready to extend cooperation to set up world class medical colleges in Amaravati under public private partnership.

Laying the foundation stone for the Amaravati American Institute of Medical Sciences at Ibrahimpatnam near here on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that “21 medical institutions are ready to open their branches in Amaravati.” He said NRIs were coming forward to set up industries and medical institutions in the capital region.

The CM said AAIMS will be developed at a cost of ₹600 crore, with a 300-bed hospital coming up by 2019 in the first phase.

He thanked AAMS Chairman Navaneeta Krishna for coming forward to set up the medical institution and M Padmanabha Rao for offering 20 acre of land for the construction of a hospital near Ibrahimpatnam.
