The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority has notified the proposed capital city area of Amaravati, identifying the mandals and villages where it would be located and the overall spread.

In a Government order, the APCRDA, which was constituted in December 2014 to oversee the capital city area and its development, has outlined that an extent of 217.2 sq.km would form part of the capital city area as against 122 sq.kmwhich was notified earlier.

The Singapore government has presented two plans, one a master plan and another capital region plan and is expected to come out with the seed Capital Plan by July 15. The seed Capital area would house all major administrative establishments such as Secretariat, Assembly, High Court and other key structures.

The process of land pooling of 34,000 acres is also expected by the month end. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had on June 6 performed the Bhoomi pooja at Madadam village in Guntur district.
