Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has announced a five-day week for the employees of the State secretariat and those of the offices of different directors in the State administration and also a hike of 30 per cent in HRA for the staff in the capital area.
He made the announcements after inaugurating the interim secretariat complex at Velagapudi village in Guntur district. He said the construction of the complex would be completed by June 15 and all efforts would be made to start functioning from the new capital area as soon as possible. On the occasion, he also signed a file waiving farm loans by horticulture farmers in the State amounting to ₹3,250 crore. He reiterated the commitment of the State government to waive the farm loans and said so far, loans amounting to ₹24,000 crore had been waived.
In spite of severalproblems. including severe funds crunch after bifurcation of the State, the Chief Minister said the State government was going ahead with several development and welfare programmes.
