Arjuna Natural Extracts, the Kerala-based botanical extracts manufacturer, is set to strengthen its presence in the European market with a new operational base in Brussels.

The company, known for its patented turmeric extract BCM-95, has customers across 40 countries globally. BCM-95 had recently acquired a patent on the method of treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

The Belgium Consul General, Bart De Groof, recently visited Arjuna’s manufacturing facility at Karumathamppetty in Coimbatore.

PJ Kunjachan, Managing Director, said the preventive healthcare segment is gaining momentum in Europe and companies backed by extensive research and quality centric regime would find the market promising. The company invests more than 10 per cent of its turnover in R&D and is associated with several international universities for undertaking clinical trials and studies.

According to Benny Antony, Joint Managing Director, Arjuna complies with the new European 2015/1933 PAH regulation which defines the levels of PAHs in food supplements in Europe.

“We have invested in top quality control equipment to meet the European regulations. The growing demand of nutraceutical products in the global market and the consumers’ expectations on purity encourage us to develop a clean, GMO-free ingredient that the consumers can trust,” he added.
