In Karnataka 4,537 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 59,652 and of which 36,631 were active cases.

About 1,018 people were discharged, and in all 21,775 people have been discharged so far. A total of 93 deaths were reported in the State taking the total death toll to 1,240 and patients in ICU are 580.

Bengaluru Hotspot

Bengaluru still continues to worry the Karnataka government. The city has been clocking over 1,000 cases daily for the last 11 days in a row.

The following are day-wise cases: July 18 - 2,125 cases, July 17 – 2,208 cases, July 16 – 2,344 cases, July 15 – 1,986 cases, July 14 – 1,267 cases, July 13 – 1,320 cases, July 12 – 1,525 cases, July 11 – 1,533 cases, July 10 – 1,447 cases, July 9 – 1,373 cases and on July 8 – 1,148 cases.

On Saturday, Bengaluru Urban district reported 2,125 cases and 49 deaths. The total positive cases in the city stood at 29,621 and active cases were 22,449.

The city discharged 250 patients today and so far 6,540 people have been discharged.

Other than Bengaluru Urban which has reported 2,125 cases, the other districts which have been reporting three digit cases: Dakshina Kannada 509 cases, Dharwad 186 cases, Vijayapura 176 cases, Ballari – 155 cases, Belagavi – 137 cases, Uttara Kannada – 116 cases, Shimoga – 114 cases, Udupi - 109 cases, Chikkaballapura – 107 and Mysuru – 101 cases.
