Suchitra Film Society to hold its fifth edition of Bengaluru International Short Film Festival (BISFF 2015) from August 28 to 30.
BISFF 2015 has already received a staggering 3,150 submissions under both student and non-student categories from India and abroad.
“A larger part of this is from outside India (81 countries) and a fair number of films are from across the country, varied in language and subject. Of these, we will screen around 300 films in five competition sections over the three days,” said a Suchitra Film Society release.
“We will screen 114 films from India, out of that 42 films are from Karnataka. For the festival, the delegate pass are being issued at Rs 500 and Rs 300 for Students,” it added.
Screening will begin at 10 am on August 28 and the official opening will be at 6.30 pm the same day. Prakash Raj, noted film actor and director, will be the chief guest.
Fading Red directed by Bharath MC will be the opening film of the festival. The festival will have workshops, panel discussions and feedback sessions over the 3-days.
The screenings are expected to continue till 9 pm on the first two days. The closing ceremony will be at 6.30 pm on August 30, with Sriram Raghavan, director (of Badlapur fame) as chief guest.
