All sections of the people have been touched with one or the other schemes of the Narendra Modi government, claimed BJP president Amit Shah while addressing the BJP National Executive meeting here on Saturday. He said the last four years were beneficial for farmers and poor people.

He asked BJP leaders to challenge “P Chidambaram and company” with facts and figures and call them for a debate. Growth of economy, expansion of Income Tax ambit and benefits of GST and demonetisation should be communicated to the people with facts and figures, Shah said in the meeting. He urged all BJP members to go to villages and explain people about the ántyodaya” programmes of the Centre based on the ideals of Jan Sangh founder Deendayal Upadhyay.

Briefing reporters after the first day of the meeting, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the BJP president also referred to the issue of National Register of Citizens in Assam. “He said the issue has been discussed in BJP resolutions at least nine times in the past. “We are committed in implementing the NRC,” she said. She added that Shah also said the minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, including Hindus, Buddhists and Jains, will be given protection in India.

He also talked in detail about the preparations for 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the State elections to Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and other States. “In the 19 States where we are in government, we will win with maximum number of States. In other States where we are second, we will get the benefit of anti-incumbency. He said we will do well in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu too,” Sitharaman said. He has also asked the leaders to monitor the voters’ list verification process. He hoped that BJP will get more number of seats than 2014 elections to the Lok Sabha
