The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) to withdraw the recent steep revision of fixed charges. The steep increase was not discussed in public hearings organised by TNERC.
The survival of many small scale industrial units were at stake. As such, the present steep revision needs to be reverted to previous rates, the chamber urged.
