In a concerted effort to help fight cancer, a start up called `Cancer Clinics’ has been started in Hyderabad by entrepreneur Sonali Srungaram.

The CEO & Chairperson of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories GV Prasad and his wife Anuradha, co-founder and managing trustee of Dr Reddy’s Foundation, formally launched the initiative today in the presence of noted oncologists and healthcare professionals.

Cancer Clinics - is a dedicated cancer speciality facility which provides a set of curated services for cancer patients and their carers to improve well-being through integrative care by a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals.

Prasad said it was vital to catch cancer early to reduce the disease burden both for the patients and their carers. Such clinics are the need of the hour.

Explaining the concept Sonali Srungaram – Managing Director of ‘Cancer Clinics’ said it builds on the earlier initiative of CIPHER Healthcare, which delivers cancer preventive measures and `Cancer Helpline’ that dealt with anxieties that patients and their care givers go through.

‘Cancer Clinics’ will offer screening, information, advice on nutrition, relaxation classes, psychologist and nursing support for anyone needing to talk or dealing with the most subjects like being a likely candidate, depression, fear of end, fear of cancer recurring and other issues not easy to address in a hospital setting.

She said so far nearly Rs two crore have been invested in the ventures and efforts were on to raise Rs 3.5 crore from angel investors and existing one’s to fund Cancer Clinics expansion into more cities.
