Chhattisgarh and its electricity distribution utility called Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company (CSPDCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding under the Centre’s discom revival scheme.
The Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojana (UDAY) will help the state government get a net benefit of approximately ₹3,100 crore, an official statement said. Due to the provisions of the scheme, CSPDCL’s debt will reduce to ₹435 crore from ₹1,740 crore. The balance debt will be issued as state guaranteed bonds at coupon rates of 3 per cent less than the existing interest rate.
