An Ahmedabad court on Tuesday issued summons to respondents in the criminal defamation case filed by BJP chief Amit Shah’s son Jay Amit Shah against news portal The Wire over a report that claimed the turnover of his firm grew exponentially after the party came to power in 2014.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate SK Gadhvi issued summons to journalist Rohini Singh, five editors and the non-profit company that publishes The Wire.
The order was issued after considering the depositions of three witnesses, including Jay, as well as documentary evidences produced by his lawyer SV Raju.
