The number of Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu has risen to 16,277 after another 765 persons were reported positive for the virus on Sunday. The number includes 46 returnees from other States/= and countries.
In Chennai, the total number of Covid-19 positive cases has risen to 10,576 with 587 people infected with the virus on Sunday.
With 833 patients recovered, the total tally of discharged persons in the State increased to 8,324.
At present, there are 7,839 active cases.
In a distant second is Chengalpattu with 46 cases; followed by Tiruvallur with 34; Kancheepuram with 21 and many districts that have reported cases in single digits.
Eight Covid-19 patients died on Sunday, taking the death toll to 111 in the State.
There are 5,643 Covid-19 suspected individuals in isolation ward admission, said the State government data.
