Three young entrepreneur teams from Delhi-NCR bagged awards in the grand finale ‘Next Great Entrepreneur Business’ plan competition held here recently. The competition was held to promote entrepreneurship and strengthen US-India business ties. The three teams that were honoured were Life on Wheels, a microfinance project supporting rickshaw pullers, Laadli, which aims to produce low-cost re-usable sanitary napkins for rural Indian women and Electric Auto Rickshaws, according to a release by the US Embassy. The business plan competition for Delhi-National Capital Region was organised by the US Embassy, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Indian Angels Network. The finalists in each category delivered presentations to explain their concepts for an innovative general business, green business, or business that empowers women. The winners received the opportunity to be incubated as well as Rs 1 lakh each.
