Fire broke out in blast furnace - 3 of the Visakhapatnam steel plant - Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited here on Friday morning, but it was brought under control quickly, according to management sources.
According to a RINL press release, one of the tuyers of blast furnace-3 at the steel plant burst at around 9 a.m. on Friday, "resulting in a minor fire mishap. No one suffered any injuries and no damage occurred to the equipment."
The fire was doused immediately and the blast furnace was shut down safely for further inspection, adds the release.
