The first BIMSTEC disaster management exercise will be organised in Delhi-NCR. The exercise, to be held over four days, will be a platform to share best practices on all aspects of disaster risk reduction and strengthening regional response and coordination for disaster management among BIMSTEC countries. The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) involves countries in South and South East Asia, that is, Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal.

The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal will hear the ₹856-crore claim by the Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India against the National Stock Exchange (NSE) over predatory pricing in currency futures contracts. The MSEI had dragged the NSE to the Competition Commission which had held the NSE guilty and asked it to compensate the MSEI. The NSE had then filed an appeal with the Competition Appellate Tribunal (COMPAT) but lost the appeal. The MSEI had filed an application for award of compensation before COMPAT. As COMPAT has ceased to exist (from May 26), all pending matters before COMPAT stand transferred to the NCLAT.

Xiaomi will launch its premium Mi MIX 2 smartphone in India today. It will retail in the same space as the iPhone X and the Galaxy Note 8 but at about half the cost. The Mi Mix 2 is likely to be priced around Rs 40,000.

Mahindra and Mahindra will launch a refreshed version of its KUV100 ahead of the festival season. This is the company's first update to the compact SUV that was launched in January 2016.

India routed Australia by nine wickets in the rain-hit opening match in Ranchi to take a 1-0 lead. The hosts have won seven matches in a row, and they have not lost to Australia in T20Is since September 28, 2012.
