After nine days of strike in the Darjeeling hills for a separate statehood, the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) has called for an all-party meet on Monday.
Addressing a press conference on Sunday at Darjeeling, GJM leader Raju Pradhan said the meet has been organised to discuss the ongoing situations in the hills.
According to him, all the political parties including Congress, Trinamool Congress, Rashtriya Congress, GNLF, CPI(M) will be invited at the meet.
GJM has been observing indefinite strike in Darjeeling since August 3. The party, which is controlling the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration in the hills, renewed its demand for statehood, after the Union Government’s decision to allow formation of Telangana.
