Following fast-paced developments in the cash-for-vote scam and the growing debate on the implementation of Section 8 of the AP Re-Organisation Act, ESL Narasimhan, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, has been called for a meeting by the Home Ministry.
According to sources, he is expected to take a flight later today and meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Ministry officials on Friday at 11 am.
The invitation assumes importance in the backdrop of growing concerns about developments in the cash-for-vote scam, which could potentially lead to issue of notices to AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and a couple of MPs.
The meeting comes in the backdrop of the Andhra Pradesh demand for implementation of Section 8 of the Act, which provides for handling the law and order in Hyderabad, the common capital of both the States for 10 years.
