K Sivan, Project Director of GSLV, has been conferred with honorary doctorate by Sathyabhama University, at a function held in Chennai on Saturday. This is in recognition to his contributions in the field of aerospace technology, especially in developing indigenous cryogenic engines for GSLV. An alumnus of IISc, Bangalore, Sivan took his PhD from IIT, Bombay. He is currently a distinguished scientist of ISRO and the Chief Controller at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre here.
