The fourth edition of August Fest will be held in Hyderabad on September 3 and 4. A carnival for start-ups, the fete is expected to attract over 12,000 delegates. About 125 start-ups will find space to showcase their products. Start-up investor Carman Chan, who invested in over 25 firms including Spotify, will address the crowd.
The other important speakers include Ernest Sanchez (entrepreneur and investor, Spain), Soundarya Rajanikanth, Charu Sharma (founder of Pro kabaddi league) and Shobu Yarlagadda (film producer).
Talking on the sidelines of the curtain-raiser event here on Thursday, Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary (IT, Govt of Telangana), said that the Government would help the start-ups outside of the T-Hub (a government promoted incubator) get exposure to the ecosystem.
“We have introduced Revolution Stage, Startup State, Scaleup Stage and Un-conference in the fourth edition. We have invited some global funds that have plans to invest in start-ups in India,” Kiran Maverick, Co-founder of Eat, Sleep, Drink (ESD), which organises the August Fest, has said.
“The event will showcase and discuss the opportunities for startups in sports and entertainment. Soundarya (film actor Rajinikanth’s daughter) and Bahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda will take part in the discussion on the opportunities,” Adi, Co-Founder of the firm.
