Israel opens new Consulate General office in Bengaluru

The Consulate General of the State of Israel in Bengaluru opened its new premises.

The consulate for the southern region was established in Bengaluru in 2013, as the third Israeli diplomatic mission in India (alongside New Delhi and Mumbai).

The office covers the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The Consulate General of Israel in Bengaluru deals with Trade, Consular Affairs, Culture and Public Diplomacy among many other areas in Southern India.

In accordance with the Agriculture Co-operation Agreement signed between India and Israel in 2008, and with the three year work plan finalised between the Ministries of Agriculture in 2011, Indo-Israel agriculture co-operation projects are in various stages of implementation across India.

There are five Centers of Excellences already established in our region dealing in the field of horticulture.

Ambassador of Israel to India Daniel Carmon said “Our consulate in Bengaluru is not just a symbol of the tightening relations between Israel and India but a real manifestation of the progress Israel and India have made through the years. It is the answer for a growing need on both sides to create more channels with southern India.”

Acting Consul General Amb.DovSegev Steinberg said: “The Consulate General of Israel in Bangalore was established in 2013 since then the consulate has issued more than 1000 visas since July 2014. Apart from visas, The Consulate has helped to set up five horticulture Centers of Excellence throughout the Southern region of India.”

“Currently, we are promoting delegations both from the government and private sectors, to participate inWATEC—the largest water technologies exhibition in the world which will take place in Tel Aviv between October 13- 15.
