Circulation of newspapers remained affected in the city as an indefinite strike by newspaper hawkers entered its second day on Monday.
About 4,000 newspaper hawkers are on strike since Sunday demanding hike in their commission in proportion to the increased rates of newspapers.
“The newspaper owners have been increasing rates day-by-day but our commission is the same. We demanded increased commission, but the issue has not been addressed,” a representative of the hawkers said.
No hawker picked newspapers from any of the 14 distribution centres in the city, he said.
