The digitisation process of the Social and Educational Survey, which is being conducted by the Karnataka Government, will be completed by May-end, according to Shalini Rajaneesh, Principal Secretary, Backward Classes and Welfare Department of the Karnataka Government.

Addressing presspersons during her visit to Mangaluru to review the progress of the survey in Dakshina Kannada district, she said that most districts in the state have achieved 100 per cent achievement in survey.

However, the survey is slow in urban areas, especially in city corporation areas. Of the five city corporations in the state, the survey has been completed fully in Belgaum. Survey has been completed in most of the rural areas, she said.

The process of the digitisation has already begun, and likely to completed by the end of May.

Once completed, it will provide a directory of around 1.41 crore families in the state.

After that individual families will get a de-coded form of their family from the government. If there is any complaint in the de-coded forms, it can be rectified, she said.

Stating that the survey helps in analyzing social conditions of families in the state, she said the report generated through this survey help in the effective implementation of various government programmes.
