The technical consultancy firm, Kitco Ltd, has bagged two consultancy contracts for expressways being set up in Uttar Pradesh by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) in a tough competitive bidding process.
The scope of the consultancy involves conducting topographic surveys, alignment preparation and approval, detailed design, traffic survey, pavement design, land plan, structural design, forest, wild life clearance, environment impact assessment, preparation of a detailed project report, bidding documents and model agreements.
The total cost of the two projects, including land acquisition, would be Rs 25,000 crore and Kitco would earn a consultancy fee of Rs 10 crore.
By bagging two prestigious expressway projects through competitive bidding, Kitco has demonstrated its capability beyond undertaking consultancy for roads, bridges, seaports and airports to bigger infrastructure projects at the national level, according to Cyriac Davies, Managing Director.
Earlier this year, the company had bagged projects from Bharat Electronics Ltd for setting up a Defence Systems Complex in Andhra Pradesh at a cost of Rs 195 crore. It also received a contract for setting up an Aero Engine Research and Development Center at HAL in Bengaluru at a project cost of Rs 140 crore.
