The Reserve Bank of India is considering extending support to the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through receivables finance system. This was disclosed by RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan during his meeting with the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the latter’s office here. The SMEs were in need of special attention and the apex bank would direct the small banks to support the small and medium enterprises, Rajan said. The Governor was also informed banks were not coming forward to lend fresh loans to the farmers. He had assured Rao that he would look into the issue.
