The first Siemens Centre of Excellence in Karnataka was opened at the Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE) in Moodbidri of Dakshina Kannada district recently.
Software grant Siemens PLM Software has given a software grant to the centre, which is valued at around $79 million.
Siemens Centre of Excellence includes advanced technologies in the field of digital design, validation and digital manufacturing.
A press release said here that the Centre of Excellence gives access to students to the same technology that companies around the world depend on to develop innovative products in industries such as automotive, aerospace, machinery, ship building and high-tech electronics.
‘Make in India’ Suman Bose, Managing Director of Siemens PLM India, said that technology can make the programmes like ‘Make in India’ a success.
