South Malabar Gramin Bank (SMGB) has achieved the distinction of issuing the highest number of Kisan Credit Cards in the State.
Shaji K.V., chairman, SMGB, disclosed this to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy during a discussion held here on Saturday last.
As per data, the bank has issued 93,170 cards as on June this year, Shaji said.
It aims extend assistance to all farmers under the command area by the year-end.
It is also launching a campaign to ensure that all families in the service area have at least one bank account.
The bank has been extending collateral-free loans to the small and medium enterprises, Shaji added.
