The Trinamool Congress on Saturday said it would bring a no-confidence motion against the UPA-II’s decision to open up the retail sector and reduce the cap on subsidised LPG cylinders.
The no-confidence motion would be brought during the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament, Trinamool supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said. The winter session of Parliament begins on November 22.
The decision was taken following the Parliamentary committee meeting of the Trinamool Congress.
"We feel that the UPA-2 has lost all moral responsibility to run the Government. We will bring a no-confidence motion on the first day of the Winter Session of Parliament," Banerjee told presspersons at Writers’ Buildings.
Opening up of the retail sector and reducing the cap on subsidised LPG cylinders were two of the issues that led to the acrimonious exit of the TMC from the UPA-II in September this year.
