Chennai Metro Rail Ltd has partnered with cab service providers Uber and Ola to set up booking kiosks at all metro stations.
Metro commuters can now book their rides at all the stations without having to worry about access to a smartphone or internet connectivity, a Uber press release said.
In a separate release, Olas said that as part of the agreement, 11 Chennai Metro stations will have dedicated Ola kiosks to be operational from this week.
It has signed similar MoUs with metros across the country, in cities such as Kolkata, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Ola aims to replicate similar models with other key public utility spaces across the country, the release said.
