Karnataka will develop industrial clusters for textiles and gems & jewellery units run by women entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the WE’s (Women Entrepreneurs) International Conference and Business Fair at Austin in Texas in the US, Karnataka Additional Chief Secretary (Commerce and Industries), Ratna Prabha said the State’s new industrial policy has offered reservation of 5 per cent of industrial plots in the industrial areas and estates for women.

Ratna Prabha is leading a 22-member delegation, including 19 women entrepreneurs, to the conference which will end on June 25.

The conference is being attended by more than 300 corporates, government and WBE exhibitors showcasing their brands, products and services, their capabilities and opportunities.

“Over the last two days, the delegation networked with women entrepreneurs from business organizations and industries from across the world and discussed technological development, innovation and scope for new opportunities which would act as a catalyst for further growth,” Ratna Prabha said.

During the conference, she explained the investment opportunities in Karnataka and invited women entrepreneurs from across the world to invest in the State through joint ventures and strategic partnerships. She also extended an invitation to them to attend ‘Invest Karnataka 2015’ global meet in Bengaluru in November.
