SOTC Travel Limited, a subsidiary of Thomas Cook India Limited, has launched Darshan, whichfacilitates pre-booked darshan, special pooja, and assisted temples visit in addition to logistics.

The company has tied up with online platform ePuja, which offers online pooja services in temples, for the same. SOTC offers package tours to 50 temples across 60 destinations in India at prices ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹40,000 per person.

SD Nandakumar, Business Head – B2B, told mediapersons the tours are designed based on the specific needs of travellers, destinations were selected based on popularity, traction and the company’s ability to serve seamlessly in the location.

There are plans to have 300 temples by December 2017. According to Nandakumar this will be done in stages after a test run at respective locations.

“Spiritual tours segment in India is the largest,” said Nandakumar. “But there is not much focus in the segment,” he added. The idea of launching a separate segment, which also combines last mile connectivity, for spiritual tours is to tap this potential.

Arranging for special pooja and homan at your convenient time is difficult due to huge crowd.

“This is where we differentiate ourself,” he said.

Though current packages cater only to temples, Nandakumar said the company will include mosques and churches in future.
