Seven teams from B-schools around the country will battle it out for the title of BusinessLine CXO of the Year in the finals of the BLoC Boardroom Challenge presented by Indian Terrain. The finals will be held on Wednesday, September 5 in Chennai.

After a rigorous online preliminary round in which over 1,800 teams participated, the BLoC Boardroom Challenge had seven semi-final rounds across seven cities. The teams that will battle it out in the finals are GRG School of Management, Coimbatore; Department of Management Studies, IIT-Madras; IIM Indore; IMT Ghaziabad; two teams from ISB’s Hyderabad and Mohali campuses, and TAPMI, Manipal.

The case for the finals for which the students will make a presentation to a jury will be to work out a strategy for a sub-brand of Indian Terrain.

The venues for the semi-finals were GRD School of Management, Coimbatore; St Joseph’s Institute of Management, Bengaluru; Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai; Amity Business School, Delhi; Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune; SPJIMR, Mumbai, and ISB Hyderabad campus.

The online preliminary round was a psychometric test administered by S Sivakumar, executive coach and trainer. In the semi-finals, the teams had to make a presentation on the launch of a toilet soap brand. The case was prepared by Vishwadeep Kuila of marketing consultancy Brand Vectors and an alumnus of IIM-A. The jury for the finals will comprise Charath Narasimhan, CEO, Indian Terrain; Vishwadeep Kuila, and Krithika Subrahmanian of Transform Design, an architectural design firm.
