Telangana on Saturday entered into an agreement with Vindhya E-Infomedia for setting up a campus for Information Technology which will focus on creating employment opportunity for persons with disabilities.
Spread over 10 acres, the campus will come up near the Hyderabad International Airport in the IT Park developed by the State government and shall have all the amenities for training, residential and delivery centres that will cater to clients both domestic and International.
The campus aims to create jobs for 2,000 people in the next 5 years through training.
Vindhya E-Infomedia private limited, with over 1,600 people working out of Hyderabad and Bengaluru, employs a workforce comprising physically challenged, hearing and visually Impaired.
Describing this as an unique initiative, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary - IT, in a statement, urged persons with disabilities to make most of the opportunity created through this effort. While handing out appointment letters to the newly hired, he advised them to continue working harder and break the perception of disability being a barrier.
Pavithra YS, CMD of Vindya, said: “Through this unique initiative, Telangana has created history by helping an organisation to setup an IT Campus exclusively for the persons with disabilities.
